Check that the table or test report identifies the exact construction and units, whether the load is concentrated or distributed, the support condition, span, allowable deflection and safety basis.

How to compare GRP products using verified performance data rather than a headline weight.
Controlled web guidance · Revision 1 · 12 August 2026
Weight alone does not prove structural strength, stiffness, quality or weakness. A heavier product is not automatically better either.
Reducing section size, load-bar area, wall thickness, glass content or material mass may reduce stiffness, load capacity, impact resistance or durability unless the change is supported by verified engineering and test data. Product selection should match the actual span, supports, loads, exposure and performance requirement.
Check that the table or test report identifies the exact construction and units, whether the load is concentrated or distributed, the support condition, span, allowable deflection and safety basis.
For an engineered application, provide the product, clear span, support arrangement, load case, environment and required deflection limit.
