Gloucester Hospital: Ten GRP Electrical-Riser Infills Across a Tower

Ten checked GRP infills installed across tower levels 1–10, closing repeated electrical-riser openings with a recorded fixing detail.

Project overview

A tower area at Gloucester Hospital required GRP infills at electrical-riser openings across ten consecutive levels. Although the nominal infill size was repeated, every installation still needed a clear record of its location, support and fixing arrangement.

Vital GRP installed and checked ten 480 × 500mm infills from level 1 through level 10. The completion record identifies stainless M and G clamps and reconciles the final installed quantity to ten—not the eleven previously shown on an internal tracker.

Ten riser infills completed, checked and signed off on 13 August 2026.

The access challenge

Repeated openings can create a false impression that one generic detail will suit every floor. In practice, each riser location had to be approached as an individual installation: the available bearing, surrounding services, edge condition and fixing access all needed checking while keeping the final record aligned with the actual completed quantity.

The installed solution

  • Ten tower levels individually identified and recorded from level 1 to level 10.
  • Nominal 480 × 500mm GRP infills prepared for the electrical-riser openings.
  • Stainless M and G clamp fixing detail recorded against each installation.
  • Level-by-level photographs retained to evidence coverage and completed condition.
  • Final quantity reconciled and the installation signed off on 13 August 2026.

Installation evidence

The images cover four different tower levels rather than repeating one finished view. This gives specifiers a clearer record of how the same nominal detail was applied across the building.

Technical assurance for future projects

Multi-level riser work benefits from a location schedule that connects each opening to its dimensions, supports, fixing detail, photograph and completion status. That evidence matters as much as the repeated product specification.

  • Verify the physical number and location of openings before releasing the final schedule.
  • Record the bearing, edge condition, nearby services and fixing access at every level.
  • Define panel size, support requirement and clamp material from the surveyed condition.
  • Keep level-specific photographs so the completed installation can be traced later.
  • Reconcile the completion record to the actual installed quantity before sign-off.

Project outcome

Ten GRP electrical-riser infills were installed across tower levels 1–10. Each location was photographed and recorded, and the final quantity was reconciled before the project was signed off on 13 August 2026.
