GRP sheets and strips improve the surface of a sound substrate. Selection must address the existing structure, edge transitions, aggregate, cover thickness, fixing system and foreseeable contamination.

Substrate firstIdentify steel, concrete, timber, tile or GRP; repair corrosion, rot, cracking, movement and contamination before covering.

Surface gradeChoose aggregate and grit coarseness for footwear, traffic and cleaning. Coarser is not automatically better for every user.

Edges and interfacesCoordinate doors, thresholds, drainage channels, joints and exposed corners so the overlay does not introduce a trip edge.

Fixing systemUse compatible adhesive plus project-appropriate mechanical restraint where required; verify pull-out, edge distance and access beneath.
