Clean studio view of pultruded GRP channel profiles

PULTRUDED STRUCTURAL PROFILES

GRP Channels

Pultruded GRP channel sections for beams, frames, edge members, supports and fabricated access structures.

Common channel applications

Frames and bearers

Platform frames, equipment supports and secondary members where corrosion resistance reduces maintenance.

Stair and walkway details

Stringers, landing members and edge supports coordinated with grating and handrails.

Plant and utility supports

Non-conductive or low-maintenance support frames around services and process equipment.

Specify the section, direction and support

Pultruded GRP is directionally reinforced. Geometry, fibre direction, span, restraint, connection and service environment must be considered together when the profile carries load.

  • Confirm overall depth, flange width and wall thickness
  • Identify open-face orientation
  • Check lateral restraint and connection plates
  • Verify span, load and deflection
  • Detail holes and notches with adequate edge distance

Cut, drill and CNC preparation

Supply can be arranged as full stock lengths, simple cut lengths or a drawing-led preparation package. CNC cutting is useful for repeated holes, slots, notches and complex shapes where controlled geometry and part identification reduce site work.

Send dimensioned drawings in a usable format and identify tolerances, datum faces, hole sizes, edge distances and whether cut edges require sealing or finishing.

Installation principles

  • Support and restrain profiles as shown by the project design
  • Use compatible corrosion-resistant fixings and backing details
  • Avoid uncontrolled holes, notches and sharp internal corners
  • Control GRP dust during cutting and drilling
  • Check completed dimensions before installation

Final structural verification and connection design remain the responsibility of the project designer.

Frequently asked questions

Which grp channels sizes and lengths are available?

Six confirmed Business Central options cover 100 × 50 × 6 mm through to 203 × 55.6 × 9.5 mm, in 6 m lengths, with Grey and Phenolic options where listed.

Can grp channels be supplied cut to length?

Yes. Provide finished lengths, quantities, tolerances and clear part references. Include dimensioned drawings where holes, notches, slots or other preparation are required.

How should I select the correct section and support arrangement?

Confirm the section geometry, orientation, span, loading, restraint, connections and service environment. Product-specific data and the actual support condition should be checked by the project designer.

How are long profile lengths delivered?

Delivery treatment depends on length, quantity, destination and unloading access. See Delivery & Collection or send the schedule for confirmation.

How do I request trade or project pricing?

Use the project and bulk quote route with the section sizes, quantities, cut lengths and delivery requirements. Trade customers can also review Trade Accounts.
