Bespoke colour GRP

Special Colour GRP – Bespoke RAL Colours

Specify GRP grating, structural profiles, handrail components and fabricated products in a project colour. Any RAL colour can be considered for manufacture, subject to product type, resin system, quantity, colour approval and production availability.

Made for the project

Colour across the GRP package

Special colour production can help a GRP system follow a brand standard, identify zones, improve visual contrast or sit more comfortably within an architectural setting.

GRP grating

Explore bespoke colour options for open-mesh, mini-mesh and covered grating where the product specification permits.

Structural profiles

Coordinate angles, channels, tubes, box sections and other pultruded profiles for frames, supports and fabricated assemblies.

Handrail systems

Pink GRP made for a distinctive brief

Pink GRP demonstrates how a functional composite product can also carry a strong visual identity. Bespoke colours may be used to reinforce branding, identify a controlled area or make an installation intentionally prominent.

The final colour, finish and product construction must be agreed against the intended application. A physical sample or production reference should be approved where appearance is important.

Where colour adds value

More than a visual choice

BrandingCoordinate visible access products with an organisation or site identity.
ZoningUse colour to distinguish routes, work areas, levels or operating zones.
VisibilityCreate deliberate contrast around edges, access routes or important features.
SafetySupport a wider safety plan where colour coding or visual differentiation is specified.
ArchitectureReduce visual conflict with surrounding finishes or make the GRP a design feature.

Before manufacture

Confirm the colour as part of the specification

Bespoke colour is a manufactured characteristic, not a site-applied paint finish. The project review should cover the product, resin, finish, quantity and appearance together.

Colour tolerance

RAL references provide a clear target, but perceived colour can vary with resin chemistry, reinforcement, surface texture, gloss, batch and lighting. Approve a representative sample when colour accuracy is critical.

Lead time

Special colours normally require a planned production route rather than standard stocked supply. Lead time depends on the product family, resin system, quantity and manufacturing schedule and is confirmed at quotation.

Minimum order

Minimum production quantities or set-up charges may apply. Combining compatible items or planning the complete project requirement can make a special-colour run more practical.

Project-specific verification

Colour approval does not replace structural, fire, slip-resistance, chemical-resistance or installation checks. Confirm every required performance characteristic for the final product and environment before ordering.

Bespoke RAL FAQs

Special colour GRP questions

Can GRP be made in any RAL colour?

Any RAL colour can be submitted for enquiry. Availability must be confirmed for the selected product, resin system, finish and production quantity before an order is accepted.

Can GRP grating and profiles be supplied in the same colour?

They can be coordinated to the same RAL reference, but different manufacturing processes, resins and surface textures can create a visible difference. Representative samples should be approved where close visual matching is important.

Is bespoke-colour GRP painted?

Special-colour GRP is normally manufactured using a pigmented resin system rather than relying on a site-applied decorative coating. The exact construction depends on the product and specification.

What is the lead time for special colour GRP?

Lead time is project-specific and depends on product type, resin, quantity, colour approval and the production schedule. GRP Express confirms the expected timing with the quotation.

Is there a minimum order for a bespoke RAL colour?

A minimum production quantity or set-up charge may apply because the material is made for the project. The practical minimum is confirmed after the product mix and RAL reference are reviewed.

Will the finished GRP exactly match a RAL card?

RAL is used as the target reference, but resin, reinforcement, finish, batch and lighting can affect appearance. Approve a physical sample or agreed production reference where exact visual coordination matters.
