GRP fixings and accessories
Stainless steel fixings for GRP materials and site installs.
Add corrosion-aware fixings to grating, handrail, profile and anti-slip orders so the material package is easier to install.
Grating and flooring
Clips, retainers and fasteners for open mesh, mini mesh, solid top and pultruded flooring requirements.
Handrail systems
Fixings for posts, baseplates, fittings, returns and component assemblies where site exposure matters.
Anti-slip upgrades
Fastening support for sheets, strips, stair covers, ramp covers and walkway cover installations.
Fixing selection checklist
| Application | What to confirm | Helpful route |
|---|---|---|
| Grating clip installation | Panel type, mesh, support depth, access below and whether clips are for retaining or locating. | Grating clips and fixings |
| Handrail fixing kit | Baseplate type, substrate, post spacing, exposure and required duty route. | Handrail fixing kits |
| Profile assembly | Profile type, hole positions, bracket detail and whether connection is structural. | Structural fixings |
| Anti-slip cover | Substrate, step or walkway dimensions, fixing access and traffic exposure. | Anti-slip step covers |
Useful details to send
- Product being fixed and quantity.
- Substrate or support material.
- Indoor, outdoor, wet, chemical or coastal exposure.
- Photo, drawing or installation note.
Order with the product
Including fixings with the main GRP order reduces separate sourcing and makes the picking list easier to check.
Site-specific judgement
Final fixing choice should reflect the actual substrate, access and project duty, especially on higher-risk routes.
Need fixings with a GRP order?
Send the product list, quantities and installation details and GRP Express can help build a practical fixing requirement.
Stainless-fixing selection guide
“Stainless” is a material family—not a complete environmental specification
Choose the fastener grade, finish and assembly around exposure, cleaning chemicals, chloride risk, crevices, dissimilar materials and access for inspection. Then verify the mechanical joint independently.
Environment
- Internal, external, marine or process exposure.
- Chlorides, chemicals, temperature and washdown.
- Crevices, deposits and retained moisture.
- Inspection and cleaning access.
Assembly
- Match bolt, nut and washer materials.
- Control galling and thread condition.
- Consider isolation from dissimilar metals.
- Do not reuse damaged locking components.
GRP interface
- Provide appropriate bearing distribution.
- Avoid excessive clamping pressure.
- Check hole quality and local laminate damage.
- Keep anchor and substrate checks separate.
Corrosion resistance does not prove connection capacity
The selected stainless grade addresses durability only within its defined exposure. Bolt strength, GRP bearing, washers, tightening, vibration, substrate and anchor capacity remain separate checks.
Stainless-fixing FAQs
Is every stainless fixing suitable for marine use?
No. Grade, finish, crevices, chloride exposure, cleaning and maintenance all influence suitability.
Can stainless fixings contact carbon steel?
Potentially, but dissimilar-metal contact and retained moisture should be assessed and isolation may be required by the project detail.
Does a higher stainless grade prevent galling?
Not automatically. Thread condition, materials, lubrication where permitted, installation speed and tightening method also influence galling.
Can corroded-looking staining be ignored?
No. Inspect the source, extent, environment and joint condition; distinguish surface contamination from material attack through competent assessment.
Choose stainless steel fixings around GRP product type, substrate and exposure
Stainless steel fixings support grating, handrail, profile and access-product installations where the fixing route must suit the substrate, environment and maintenance access.
Grating fixings
Use clips, clamps and recess plates that match the selected grating depth and support detail.
View grating clipsHandrail fixings
Match baseplates, posts, fittings and fixing kits to the handrail route and site conditions.
Handrail fixingsStructural profile fixings
Check connection details, drilling, substrate and corrosion exposure before specifying profile fixings.
